Every website has an environmental impact
Recent estimates suggest the internet accounts for around 3.7% of global greenhouse gas emissions, comparable to the aviation industry. This includes the vast energy demands of data centres, networks, and billions of devices worldwide, all contributing to the growing carbon footprint of our digital activities.
We designed this website from the ground up to be as low carbon as possible, prioritising minimalist design, reducing heavy visual elements, optimising images and assets, and using clean, efficient code to ensure faster load times and lower energy consumption.
We partnered with Tempest to implement thoughtful design and carbon-conscious technologies, reducing our homepage emissions from ~5.98g of CO2 per visit on our old site to under ~0.04g.
You can view our calculated carbon footprint on websitecarbon.com.
